•Decoupage fabric plates• Back when I was a y •Decoupage fabric plates•

Back when I was a young mom, I used to make these mod podge “decoupage” fabric plates all the time! I would make platters for all the holidays and to give as gifts at Christmas with Christmas candy on them. They are so fun and a great way to use some of your fabric stash! They would make such a cute plate wall too! I found some clear glass platters in my basement and it reminded me how fun these were to make. Below are all the steps and materials you need to make your own! Let me know if you give it a try and share this with someone who loves to craft❤️!

Decoupage fabric plates:

Clear glass plate or platter
Fabric of choice
Mod podge (I used dishwasher safe)
Foam craft brush
Scissors

On a piece of fabric lay plate upside down and trace around the plate. Cut around the outline I inch away from your traced circle (you’ll want to have a little extra fabric on all sides). Put plate upside down on wax paper (this is important so it doesn’t stick) and paint on the modpodge. Add the fabric print side down on the modpodge. Smooth out with your hands paying special attention to the edges of the plate. You can use a credit card to smooth any wrinkles or bubbles. Let dry for at least half an hour. If still wet around the edge of plate, let dry longer. Once dry, cut the excess fabric from edge of plate with scissors. Turn plate upside down again and modpodge the bottom of the platter. Let dry for a half hour and repeat 2-3 more times. I don’t put the plates in the dishwasher or submerse in water…although I did use dishwasher safe modpodge to waterproof a little more. You can use regular modpodge as well, just hand wash after use! Have fun making all the plates and platters!!❤️

In my honest opinion, there is no scent quite as h In my honest opinion, there is no scent quite as heavenly as the lilac (a peony might be a very close second)! I waited 10 years to get blooms on starts I took from Tom’s grandma’s…and I enjoy every single one! Did you know that lilacs can live to be over 100 years old? They do require some maintenance to bloom well year after year. Pruning and dead heading will encourage more blooms the following year. Deadhead any blooms left on the shrub immediately after blooming and prune any tall stems back to eye height. Trim suckers and wonky looking branches to encourage strong straight stems for the next season! Lilacs bloom on old wood and will set next years blooms in early summer so don’t wait to prune! Cutting this years blooms are actually helping you to have even more blooms the following year…so cut away!!! Have any lilac tips to share? Repotting your ferns is so important if you want b Repotting your ferns is so important if you want big, beautiful ferns that will last all summer! I use a 12 inch self watering hanging basket from @walmart…they are larger than they typical pots that ferns come in from the nursery and the self watering aspect makes it so easy to water throughout the summer. Ferns are heavy drinkers so this helps water to not run straight through your pot and keeps you from having to remove them and soak them in a bucket! To help the roots take off on their new pot, you will want to break up the root ball at the bottom just a bit. Then add a little soil (my favorite is @miraclegro moisture control) in your new pot, add the fern and then put more soil all the way around the basket to fill in. Your ferns will love all this new space and take off! Let me know if you give this a try and share these tips with a friend! I can’t wait to see all your beautiful ferns at the end of the summer❤️! #edwardsfarmsteadhome #edwardsfarmstead #edwardsfarmsteadflowers #gardening #gardeningtips #ferns #mycountryhome #mycountryliving #betterhomesandgardens #bhghome #bhgflowers #getgrowing #mycountrygarden #porchplants

Every summer my father-in-law plants rows and rows Every summer my father-in-law plants rows and rows of green beans (Roma II’s are the best) and I can them for us to use over the winter. There’s not much better than a pot of fresh green beans that has been cooking all afternoon, but opening up a can of those same green beans in the middle of winter is a very close second. We have green beans with every family dinner❤️.

The way I make green beans is the way my great grandma made them…and they are so good. I take 4 or 5 pieces of bacon cut into pieces and fry it in the pan you will use to cook the beans. Fry the bacon until its just slightly browned. Leave the bacon pieces and grease for flavor. Take an onion (half or whole depending on the size of your pot) and cut it into quarters. Put it in the pan with the bacon. Then add your green beans liquid from the jar included. Add some salt and simmer on low for an hour. Add more water as needed while simmering. You can use store bought green and cook the exact same way!

I’ll definitely be making these for Easter dinner! What about you? Do you have a favorite way to cook green beans? #edwardsfarmstead #edwardsfarmsteadcooks #greenbeans #eastersidedish #cannedgreenbeans #bhgfood #tasteofhome

Homemade Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk granola bar Homemade Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk granola bars!

I took our peanut butter protein ball recipe and granola recipe and mixed them together to make these yummy homemade granola bars! They taste a lot like the good chewy granola bars you buy from the store…only better! If you know someone who loves granola bars, share this recipe with them❤️! Let me know if you give them a try!

2 cups rice crispy cereal
2 cups quick oats
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup brown sugar
4 tablespoons butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 bar bakers semi sweet chocolate chunks or 1 cup mini chocolate chips

Mix cereal and oats together in large mixing bowl and set aside. In a sauce pan mix peanut butter, brown sugar, honey and butter until dissolved, stirring continuously. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour peanut butter mixture over the cereal/oats and coat well. While that cools, cut up a baker’s chocolate bar into small chunks and add to the mixture once cooled. You can also use mini chocolate chips in place of bakers chocolate. Pour mixture onto a parchment lined baking sheet with sides and refrigerate for one hour. Cut into bars and store in an airtight container in refrigerator until ready to eat! Enjoy❤️

My family’s favorite lasagna recipe! There’s n My family’s favorite lasagna recipe! There’s nothing special or too difficult about this recipe, but everyone who has tried my lasagna loves it…so I thought it might be worth sharing! Be sure to use your fancy paper plates when serving too😉! Recipe is below!

1 box lasagna noodles
2 lb hamburger browned (can use 1 lb hamburger and 1 lb Italian sausage)
2 jars favorite pasta sauce
1 32oz container Ricotta cheese
1 egg
1 pkg mozzarella cheese slices
1 2cup pkg mozzarella shredded cheese
Italian seasoning
Garlic powder
Salt

Brown hamburger, drain and add 1 jar of sauce to the pan to simmer. I like to add additional spices such as Italian seasoning, salt and garlic powder to taste. Boil lasagna noodles until Al dente while hamburger and sauce simmers on low heat. Mix together ricotta cheese with one egg and season with 1 tablespoons Italian seasoning and a dash of garlic powder. Once noodles are ready, prepare a 9x13 (or a lasagna pan) by spraying with cooking spray. Then start layering. I do this by adding noodles to the bottom to cover them add a layer of hamburger, then ricotta cheese, then top with mozzarella cheese slices and add half of the second jar of sauce. For the next layer I add noodles, hamburger and ricotta. Then top with last layer of noodles, pour the remainder of the sauce on top of the noodles and top with shredded mozzarella cheese. The pan will weigh 50lb😂!

Preheat oven to 375 and Cover pan with aluminum foil. Bake for 45 min covered. Remove the foil and bake for another 15 min until cheese is bubbling and browned. You can broil for a couple min if needed. Remove from oven and let lasagna sit for 10-15 min before serving. Enjoy!!
